Just Listen: Change For Kids

Change for Kids (CFK) is a New York City nonprofit that partners with Title I elementary schools in order to provide enriching experiences that allow kids to dream.  Across its network of 13 partner schools in all five boroughs, Change for Kids works to ensure that scholars are prepared for middle school and beyond; with both ‘hard skills’ such as literacy, and ‘soft skills’ (social-emotional learning), CFK scholars are well-equipped to change their futures.

CFK’s Executive Director, Kevin Ervin, is a people-centered creator with a focus on possibilities and a contagious enthusiasm for new ideas, people, and activities.  A prolific musician, Kevin can play seven instruments and appreciates music of all genres. As an imaginative and visionary dreamer, he is called to use his passion for music to benefit the greater good – in this case, the current and future educational possibilities for students in NYC public schools.

Just Listen is a multisensory musical experience fusing live music, live visual art, and video projection. You will be given a set of headphones, set to your preferences. Next, you’ll watch as live music, visual artists, and filmmakers dazzle you, all to the beat of your personal musical experience. Enjoy a collective, shared experience that will be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced while supporting a worthy cause! It’s listening to your favorite music – the way you like it – LIVE!  All you have to do is just listen.
