Daybreaker: Future Arts
October 4, 2019 @ 6:00 am - 9:00 am EDT
It’s time to set your alarm. ⏰ On Friday, October 4th, you’re invited to jump into the future. 🚀 For the very first time, we’re waking up inside America’s first national museum—the Smithsonian Arts+Industries Building, a National Historic Landmark. 😱
This is a sacred space perpetually on the cutting edge—a place where Edison displayed the first light 💡 bulb before the White House even had electricity. And now, the Smithsonian is opening the doors of AIB for a new quest to explore the biggest questions on our horizon. So while nobody knows for certain what the future holds, we’re making sure it’s full of dance, mischief, performance and surprise. It’s the first dance party, yoga sesh’ and silent disco in AIB’s 140 year history. 💃
That’s right, we’re taking over multiple halls inside this historic gem to get our sweat 💦 on—join us for a feel-good vinyasa flow with Hawah Kasat, tap into zen with restorative yoga led by Charlotte Bowden, take a chance with a wildcard fusion dance class by Ebony Qualls, or get spicy 🔥 with DC Casineros’ salsa dance class. And our fave sunrise conductor, The Scumfrog, will on the 1’s and 2’s for the second ever time.
Dress like you’re a time-traveler 👽 from the year 2235—holographic jackets, space suits, galactic dresses and LED everything. It’s our future. Let’s make it bright.
See you on the dance floor.
