Live-to-Headphones Piano Concert + SilentPaddle on Lady Bird Lake
March 15, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm MDT
Enjoy an evening full of exploration and contemplation at this first-of-its-kind live-to-headphones piano concert and SilentPaddle on Lady Bird Lake.
Crafted by composer and pianist, Murray Hidary, and presented by MindTravel and Rowing Dock, this unique experience combines the joy of gliding along the water in comfortable kayaks and canoes with an immersive musical journey created in real-time and delivered through headphones.
A perfect evening for families, couples and anyone who enjoys the freedom of being in nature while enveloped by beautiful music.
This MindTravel begins with a short introduction and intention-setting at Rowing Dock. Directly following, the group will embark on an easy, 1-mile guided paddle, with the natural beauty of Austin’s hike-and-bike trail and the city’s skyline as the backdrop. As the journey unfolds, Murray will take the MindTravelers on a peaceful, transformative musical journey, crafted in real-time from a grand piano floating in the middle of the lake.
Reserve your headphones and boats today and be a part of a beautiful, first-of-its-kind floating silent piano concert.
MindTravel will provide the wireless headphones.
On March 8th, pricing increases by $10/ticket.
For more information about the experience, email moc.levartdnimnull@ofni.
Check in begins at 5:00pm and will end promptly at 6:00pm.
Please arrive at the dock no later than 5:40pm to ensure you are fully checked in before the 6:00pm cut off.
*Guests who arrive late may not be able to get on the water in time for the show and will not be offered a refund.*
The event staff will collect your tickets and waivers, fit you for life jackets, and provide paddle safety instructions before helping you into your boat. To get you on the water faster, print the waiver ahead of time and bring the completed form with you.
We will also have waivers available to fill out upon arrival for those who aren’t able to fill it in out in advance.
WHAT TO BRING
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes that can get wet. Shoes are optional.
All of our kayaks have room to store water and snacks, so feel free to bring those along.
Please DO NOT bring glass, and make sure that you bring a bag or container to secure your trash in the boat for the duration of the paddle.
Since you’ve already paid for your ticket, you won’t need your wallet or purse. We recommend leaving all valuables at home or bringing a small waterproof dry bag that floats and that can attach to your person.
We do have cubby storage for non-valuable items like towels, clothes, shoes, etc. Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
Music is a catalyst for transformation, clarity, connection and purpose. And music is at the core of MindTravel, an immersive music experience created by Murray Hidary. Hidary, a composer, pianist, visual artist, tech pioneer, entrepreneur and physics lover, created MindTravel in 2014 after finding that music helped him heal after the tragic death of his sister. Now, he is on a mission to share music’s healing power with others and make it the centerpiece of a multi-sensory meditative journey.
“MindTravel is an experience like no other. Imagine a concert pianist improvising beautiful, peaceful music with imagery in the background that matches the beauty of the music — combined, it is almost meditative or trancelike.” – Jason Wachob, Founder of mindbodygreen
