With a transmitter in his backpack piping music to a moving throng wearing light-up headphones, Castel Valere-Couturier of Sound Off hopes to create something very special in Hong Kong on Oct. 24 — a silent disco / city tour from 9 p.m. to midnight that culminates in an epic dance party featuring Sound Off DJs. (The after party is slated from midnight to 3 a.m.)

Quite a few heads will turn as swarms of people dance their way through city landmarks, flash mob-style, and vanish en route to their next stop.

“We’re releasing full location details 24 hours before the event,” said Valere-Couturier. “Keep an eye on www.soundoffexperience.com and @soexperience as more details develop, and get a comfortable pair of shoes ready. This is going to be bananas.”
