Murray Hidary is a multi-disciplinary artist and tech pioneer. His purpose-driven approach is at the heart of Murray’s business successes, acclaim as a visual artist and global recognition as a musician. Ever pushing boundaries and guided by a strong desire to help people find their purpose, Murray is now focused on his provocative musical experience MindTravel, touring it across the globe while also crafting his next project No Dream Left Behind.
On Wednesday, October 4th, Murray brings his unique perspectives on entrepreneurship, creativity, and mindfulness to Cross Campus DTLA. The event will consist of a 30-minute talk and a 45-minute expansive MindTravel, followed by a q&a discussion session expanding on the themes and experience.
MindTravel is an immersive musical experience that takes place in iconic theaters and beautiful outdoor spaces. Gorgeous and provocative avant-garde real-time piano compositions, spontaneously improvised, infused with wisdom traditions, theoretical physics and the power of communal elevation. Composer and pianist Murray Hidary is the creator of MindTravel. His provocative, improvisational, real-time compositions with the piano inspired by theoretical physics and wisdom traditions, take the audience on a transporting and expansive journey. It is an exploration in translating music into our daily thoughts, words and actions. To carry forward the lessons of music into our lives. To live with harmony, clarity and rhythm.
Murray has brought MindTravel to TEDx, Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Grace Cathedral, The National Arts Club and festivals including Wanderlust, Carlsbad and Burning Man. Mind Travel has been brought to audiences in theaters, beaches and parks including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, London, San Diego, Montauk, New Jersey, Miami, Aspen, Oxford, Malibu, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Italy and Croatia. Murray studied music at New York University and recently scored the documentary REM about iconic architect Rem Koolhaas.
