Ikea: Silent Activations at Art Basel 2024
Recently, Sound Off® facilitated two immersive experiences for Ikea at Art Basel, Miami with our silent disco technology, as part of a unique brand activation.
Art Basel is a celebration of the finest contemporary and modern works, bringing together artists, galleries, curators, and collectors from around the world.
For three days during the fair, Ikea’s “Sleepeasy” popup featured panel discussions on sleep hygiene and bedroom style, pillowcase and slipper personalization, and live spray-painting sessions with local artists. As attendees walked through the various spaces of the pop-up, they learned how the science of sleep integrates into the brand’s iconic design innovations.
For added inspiration (and pure fun), Ikea hosted a silent disco with Sound Off headphones as part of their pop-up. In a space lit with colorful soft lighting, attendees slipped on our glowing headphones and danced to curated beats. Passersby stayed in the “sleepeasy” zone, as the vibing dance floor remained blissfully silent.
The next day as part of the pop-up, Sound Off facilitated relaxing sound bath experiences with Kanekshun of Miami, in a welcoming space featuring ornate soft rugs and pillows. Wearing complimentary eye masks, participants listened to live-streamed soothing vibrations and tones through our silent disco headphones for a deeply meditative and immersive experience. This sound therapy intimately created a path to balance, harmony, and overall well-being for each attendee (in other words, the perfect setup for a “sleepeasy” night).
