SOUND OFF® x PROJECT SUNRISE
Imagine enjoying a weekly oasis — coming back to yourself through the healing practice of yoga and connecting with others, too — right by the stunning Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C.
Project Sunrise welcomes anyone working in the global security community (and the general public, as well) to come together at dawn for a soothing and restorative yoga session with Sound Off™ silent disco headphones.
This unique, donation-based program is seasonal, taking place outdoors from late spring through early fall and offers a peaceful respite from the fast-paced, often intense working environment of Washington D.C. For those who are committed to service and resilience in the face of global conflicts, it’s the perfect opportunity to renew, restore, and get grounded.
The service-disabled veteran-owned small business behind Project Sunrise is Demati, a company devoted to bridging the public/private divide. Through Project Sunrise, Demati uses yoga as a channel for healing, mindfulness, and connection that transcends borders and ideologies.
Not only do participants benefit from the sanctuary of wellness that the yoga sessions provide, but the program’s profits support Operation Heal Our Heroes and Command Purpose Foundation, non-profit organizations focused on healing through human connection.
Erringer Helbling, Chief Executive Officer, Demati, and US Army Reservist, has transformed the Project Sunrise program with Sound Off silent disco technology, creating an immersive experience that deepens meditation. The headphones block out D.C.’s ambient noise and amplify the instructor’s voice, fostering mindfulness and full engagement. Beyond their technical function, the silent disco headphones help create a sanctuary of stillness in a chaotic city.
Each week, service-minded individuals come together, tune out the external world, and practice in unison, creating community and joining in a shared purpose. It’s a powerful reminder that even amidst the noise, there’s space for healing and reflection.
“I think that yoga is so beautiful,” says Helbling, “…because you’re looking inward and you have this value exchange for yourself where you are giving yourself energy to show up as your best self for the world. It’s powerful to know that at the end of the day, despite all the conflicts that are happening and the tensions we have in the world, that we can come together as simply human beings and connect in a different way.”
Sound Off is honored to be a part of this wellness initiative, using silent disco headphones to help bring a soothing retreat to those working in service to our nation and the world.
Ainsley Rowlison, Director of Communications and Public Relations for Demati Yoga, says this about incorporating silent disco technology into this unique program: “Project Sunrise has been incredibly impactful, and Sound Off headphones have played a key role in its success. From the beginning, it was clear that this was more than just a yoga class. It became a space for connection, service, and healing. Watching people from different backgrounds unite over a shared mission has been deeply moving. The headphones enhance the practice, creating a distraction-free space where participants can fully connect with themselves and each other. Sound Off silent disco technology has elevated Project Sunrise into a weekly ritual of peace, reflection, and community.”
