Almost 40 years after the original A Different World introduced audiences to fictional Hillman College, Netflix is airing a reboot featuring a whole new generation of characters on campus. In this sequel series, students navigate academics, relationships, identity, and the realities of modern HBCU life, with Sound Off™ headphones even dropping in for a cameo.

In Final Words (season one, episode five), the shock of a campus bomb threat has students questioning how to feel safe in a place where they are supposed to connect, grow, and thrive. Toward the end of the episode, after the FBI completes their campus search and gives the all-clear for everyone to return to their normal lives, we see how important it is for the characters to connect, decompress, and simply be students again.
